Liberalist theory.

I agree with this theory but not completely, because our society has evolved throughout the years but not in every aspect. Such as gay marriage and adoption.

Why shouldn't gay/lesbian people be able to get married and form a family? People always say because it's wrong and not normal. Well, isn't that what they used to say about woman voting and about african americans having rights and nos being slaves?

What's so wrong with loving a person and wanting to marry him or her? Nothing.

So yes, society has evolved but not in every aspect and not always for the good of people and or animals. But don't get me wrong, their have been great advances such as preservation of wildlife and conscious about global warming, animal rights, etc.

Homework

1. What can we learn from comic books and superheroes?
2. If you could choose any superpower which would it be and why?

Answers:

  1. What we can learn from comic books is that you are never too old to have fun. That no matter how old, fat, tall, skinny, short, boy, girl, young or however you are, you can always be the hero to any story. Superheroes have tought us that anyone can be a hero and that you should always help people in need. We should always be "good" and no matter how angry or upset you are, you should never hurt other people.
  2. I would have the power to stop time because you could to anything in that time. You could sleep, do homework, rob a bank, cheat on an exam, travel the world, etc. Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to have this superpower.

  • Exploding stars, the eventual collapse of the Sun, and the problems with the human id that prevent us from dealing with them. -- John Tooby, founder of the field of evolutionary psychology
  • That the internet is ruining writing. – David Gelernter, Yale computer scientist
  • That we will worry too much. –Joseph LeDoux, neuroscientist

I think that the first one is really going to happen but in many many years. Stars die, and we all know that the Sun is a star, so what makes the Sun inmortal? Nothing. The Sun will die and that is going to change the planet completely, it might even kill it.

The second one is also true but not in many cases. The internet makes it easy for people to write, read and become writers. I think that David refers to the lack of correct grammar used in many texts. People find it easy to shorten words or delete certain grammar rules from a sentence because it is simpler.

The last one makes complete sense because 20 years ago people didnt worry about much and had very little stress. Now even kids and teenagers suffer from depression and stress. I think that this will only get worse throught time because there still isnt a solution.

The only thing that makes me hopefull about the future is medicine; for doctors and scientist to discover the cure for cancer, alzheimers, etc.

Story

Hello reader. Let me ask you a question... Have you heard if Dharma? And no, it's not the opposite of karma; I'm talking about Dharma the time traveller. Let me tell you the story.

It all starts in the 70's when Dharmas parents, Kila and Darren started researching about acient egypt. On one of their trips, they had Dharma. Since they where always so busy researching and travelling all over the world, Dharma lived in Naples, Florida with her aunt Karla who was a scientist.

Dharla grew up dreaming about one day going back to Egypt and travelling with her parents who she hasn't seen in over 14months.

When Dharla turned 18 she started worked as her aunts assistent saved her money to go to Egypt and meet up with her parents. But she started to like all the science stuff that she was working on with her aunt and almost compltely forgot about her dream to go back to Egypt. After several years of research with her aunt they figured out the equation to the creation of a time machine. They where really excited about it but couldn't seem to continue because they needed some extra help.

Dharla and Karla moved to London to find scientist who would help them create  the time machine. They found 2 guys, Jack and Alfred. After about 12 years of research and hard work they managed to create a time machine but only one person could travel back in time, if they wanted to use it again, they would have to restart the program and that takes about 6 months.

The team decided that Dharla should go back in time and travel with her parents all over the world so she could have a happy childhood. They set the date to 1980 in Egypt. They gave her money and everything for her to be able to find her parents.

Dharla entered the time machine and suddenly disappeared. The team finally had some time to relax after a decade of hard work. But suddenly Alfred realized that they had a huge mistake. Since they sent Dharla back in time, she would be a child again, and since she would live with her parents and not her aunt Karla, she would never grow up with her or work as her assistent or figure out the equation to the time machine or creat the time machine!!

They had created a time machine that no one else would ever use or even know that some one had created a time machine, but Dharla could finally have a family and make her dream come true...

So what do you think? Since no one ever knew the story about the time machine. Do you believe?
